"While working at Mizuho I have faced many new challenges and my most rewarding experience has been seeing my team automate processes and working towards operational excellence."

What do you do at Mizuho?

I currently head up shared services within EIOD. My team is responsible for cash management, static data and AML for the London and EMEA branches.

What has been your proudest moment/most rewarding experience while working at Mizuho?

While working at Mizuho I have faced many new challenges and my most rewarding experience has been seeing my team automate processes and working towards operational excellence.

What do you do for fun outside work?

I have two small children (aged 7 and 4), so my time at home is spent having fun with them.

How would you describe Mizuho's corporate culture and people?

Since joining Mizuho I can see the corporate culture is customer focused and driven. The people are very knowledgeable and friendly.

What is the first thing you read every day (and why)?

I normally catch up with friends on my way to work by reading through emails and text messages, and then I read over an online newspaper to see what's happening in the world!

How is Mizuho different from other places where you have worked?

This is the first time I have worked at a Japanese bank. My previous employers have been either US or European investment banks. It has a different pace to those banks, which I like.

What skill or competency do you feel you have enhanced while at Mizuho?

At Mizuho I have learned to better adapt to change, including when faced with new challenges. Specifically, my flexibility and adaptability have improved during my time at Mizuho.

What is the most important thing you have learned while at Mizuho or in the industry?

You can never be sure what will happen next. Be ready to adapt and change and be open to new experiences.

What is a topic or issue outside of financial services that interests you?

I love baking. I have participated in many bake offs here in EIOD, helping to raise money for various charities.
