What do you do at Mizuho?

My role encompasses four different areas: 1) Business administration for corporate customers, including AML control; 2) Support to RMs for our products, especially related to compliance issues and internal rules; 3) Training staff through OJT and helping motivate them to improve their business skills and job–related knowledge; and 4) Business administration liaison between customers and Mizuho's internal departments.

What has been your proudest moment/most rewarding experience while working at Mizuho?

When I was a relationship manager for financial institutions and large corporates almost ten years ago, I suggested that we needed to create a corporate banking administration (CBA) team to expand our business. I got approval from our branch general manager to create the new team, and although we encountered a number of difficulties along the way, the CBA team ended up greatly contributing to the Seoul Branch's performance.

What do you do for fun outside work?

I like hiking and meditation very much. I have a dream to hike some of the biggest mountains in the world and meditate there!

How would you describe Mizuho's corporate culture and people?

Mizuho always pushes forward. We are constantly looking for new ways to expand and grow as a company. It's exciting to work at a place that is always adapting to the global business environment because there's always something new to be learned from the new markets we enter.

What is the first thing you read every day (and why)?

Customer emails, because we have to reply to our overseas customers' requests ASAP.

What skill or competency do you feel you have enhanced while at Mizuho?

What is the most important thing you have learned while at Mizuho or in the industry?

Building trust and developing long-term customer relationships.
