What do you do at Mizuho?
I work in a middle office function (risk management) and am responsible for legal and compliance risk.
What has been your proudest moment/most rewarding experience while working at Mizuho?
I derive pleasure when my work is recognized and appreciated. I have been fortunate to experience several such moments in Mizuho when my initiatives have been singled out and appreciated by my managers.
What do you do for fun outside work?
I like to spend time with family and friends.
What is the first thing you read every day (and why)?
The first thing I read in the morning is the daily newspaper to get updates on the latest news around the globe.
What skill or competency do you feel you have enhanced while at Mizuho?
I have had the opportunity to improve my leadership skills and acquire expertise in my area of work.

The most important thing that I have learned during my career is to build trust with colleagues and take ownership of the work assigned.
Tell us about something you have learned from another culture.
I have adopted two very important traits while working with Japanese colleagues—accuracy and discipline. This has helped me a lot in building my career and managing my team.
